We have a dear sister, Comfort Emmerson, who recently went through a deeply troubling and humiliating incident at Lagos Airport, where she was roughly handled and mistreated. This painful experience might have left her with emotional wounds, physical pain, and mental stress.

We are calling on you to lift her up before the Lord in prayer. She needs:

  • Healing from God — that the Lord will restore her health, both physically and emotionally, and take away every scar of pain from this incident.

  • Legal representation — that God will provide her with the right legal counsel and favor in seeking justice.

  • Peace and joy — that, despite this embarrassing and unjust treatment, her heart will find comfort and strength in the Lord.

  • Grace over her temperament — that God will help her respond with wisdom and gentleness, even in difficult situations, so that her life remains a testimony of Christ’s character.

May our united prayers bring Comfort Emmerson comfort, protection, and victory in Jesus’ name.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."Psalms 34:18

UPDATE 18/08/2025

Last week, we lifted Comfort Emmerson before the Lord after a deeply distressing and humiliating incident at Lagos Airport. Now more than ever—following new legal outcomes and ongoing public scrutiny—our prayers are vital for her emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

  • Incident Recap (August 10): Comfort was forcibly removed from an Ibom Air flight after a confrontation allegedly involving refusal to switch off her phone, verbal and physical altercations with cabin crew, and attempted use of a fire extinguisher as a weapon. The incident, captured on video, sparked widespread outrage.
  • Legal Update: An Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos has now discharged Comfort, after the police withdrew all charges. The complainant expressed no further interest in prosecuting, and the case is officially closed. We thank the Lord for this.
  • Her Own Voice: On August 17, Comfort shared a heartfelt video on Instagram describing her ordeal as deeply traumatic. She recounted being assaulted, stripped of her wig and necklace, recorded without consent, and feeling humiliated. She explained that she only reacted after being attacked. Comfort expressed remorse, apologized for her conduct, and asked for dignity and redemption amid the false narratives.

  • Court Discharges Case: The Lagos Magistrates Court in Ogba withdrew all five charges of unruly behavior and assault. The Federal Government, acknowledging her remorse, directed her release. The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) also lifted the lifetime flying ban that had been placed on her.

Why We Should Still Continue to Pray for Comfort

This is still a fragile season for Comfort. As attention shifts from confrontation to resolution, she needs our spiritual covering more than ever:

  1. Emotional Restoration: Pray for healing from trauma, shame, and public humiliation.
  2. Physical Healing & Safety: That any lingering pain or fear—emotional or physical—would be soothed and carried away by God’s presence.
  3. Wisdom & Justice: That truth prevails, false narratives are dispelled, and fair reconciliation emerges.
  4. Strength for Reputation Restoration: Pray for peace-building, renewed dignity, and restoration of relationships.
  5. Divine Advocacy: That God places compassionate allies in her life—legal, emotional, and spiritual—who will walk gently beside her.
  6. Spiritual Restoration: Pray for her healing from trauma, shame, and public humiliation.
  7. Safety & Dignity: That she is protected from further harm and that her dignity is restored.
  8. Supportive Community: May God bring trustworthy and empathetic people around her.
  9. Long-term Healing: Pray for her mind, body, and public perception to align with God’s grace and truth.
