Why we are praying: former Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert (now Natasha Vermaak) has publicly announced she is expecting her first child. This announcement invites praise and thanksgiving, but also focused prayer — for the health and protection of mother and baby, wisdom for family and caregivers, pastoral care and humility before God, and spiritual covering for all involved, including a prayer for salvation.

One-line summary — recent update

On October 27–28, 2025 Natasha Joubert (Miss South Africa 2023) publicly announced via social media that she and her husband Enrico Vermaak are expecting their first child; she revealed they are approximately five months along and shared joyful images and ultrasound pictures with followers. The announcement followed their wedding earlier this year and her public duties at recent pageant events where she had kept the pregnancy private until now.

Background — about Natasha Joubert (Natasha Vermaak)

Natasha Joubert, widely known as a model, media personality and beauty pageant titleholder, rose to national attention as Miss South Africa 2023. She has worked as a red-carpet host and influencer and is recognized for her public presence in South African media, fashion and lifestyle coverage. Earlier this year she married Enrico Vermaak; the couple have been celebrated publicly for their relationship and recent milestones. Natasha’s life and platform mean that her personal news receives widespread attention — so when we respond, we should balance celebration with discretion and spiritual care.

Comprehensive timeline — key dates & milestones

2023: Natasha gains wider public recognition through pageantry and media appearances.

Early–Mid 2025: Natasha marries Enrico Vermaak (public wedding earlier this year) and continues public engagements — including appearing as a red-carpet host at the Miss South Africa event.

October 27–28, 2025: Natasha posts a pregnancy reveal on Instagram and social media, sharing a video and photos indicating she is roughly five months pregnant and that she and Enrico have been keeping the pregnancy private for health and personal reasons until now.

Immediate reaction: Media outlets, fans and peers shared congratulatory messages; outlets also highlighted her decision to protect the early months of the pregnancy while continuing some public work.

Why we should pray — clear, scriptural reasons

  1. Thanksgiving & protection: A new life is a gift from God (Psalms 127:3). We thank God and ask for His protection over mother and child in pregnancy and birth.
  2. Health & medical care: Pregnancy brings medical and emotional needs — pray for excellent prenatal care, safety, healthy development of the baby, and peace for Natasha as she navigates pregnancy while in the public eye.
  3. Emotional & spiritual strength: Being a public figure while pregnant can create pressure; pray for emotional resilience, humility, and godly counsel for Natasha and Enrico.
  4. Wisdom for family & church: Pray that Natasha’s church family, pastors and mentors provide wise, biblical counsel and guard her privacy and dignity while offering support.
  5. For the unborn child: Pray for protection from all harm, spiritual covering, and that the child will grow in health and in the knowledge of the Lord.
  6. Salvation & spiritual fruit: Pray for Natasha, Enrico, and extended family — that they may know Christ deeply, and if not yet believers, that the Lord may draw them to repentance and faith. Pray also for spiritual fruit from this season in their lives.

How the Church and Christians should respond

  • Celebrate publicly with humility and privately with respect for the couple’s boundaries.
  • Offer practical support: prayer groups, meal trains, transportation to medical appointments, and help with newborn needs.
  • Provide pastoral care: ensure a trusted pastor or mentor is available, and encourage trauma-aware, Gospel-centered counsel if needed.
  • Pray for boundaries: ask God to protect the family from unreasonable public intrusion during pregnancy and postpartum.

Scriptural foundation for prayer

“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” — Psalms 127:3

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

“I thank my God every time I remember you, always praying with joy.” — Philippians 1:3–4

Detailed reasons to pray for Natasha specifically (and the wider circle)

Because Natasha is a public figure, the spiritual stakes are layered: celebration and public influence combine with unique pressures that can affect mental and spiritual wellbeing. Pray for:

  • Protection from undue stress and invasive scrutiny;
  • discernment in what to share publicly and what to keep private;
  • Godly counsel for parenting decisions and public ministry choices;
  • that this season leads to deeper dependence on Christ and opportunities to glorify Him rather than self.

Action steps for individuals and churches

  1. Begin a focused prayer coverage: ask small groups to intercede weekly for Natasha, Enrico and the unborn child.
  2. Offer practical assistance through trusted local ministries or via the couple’s preferred channels (donations only if requested).
  3. Encourage the couple to connect with a mature pastoral caregiver for spiritual and practical support.
  4. Model wise social media engagement — celebrate without speculating or intruding.

    Heavenly Father,

    We praise You for the gift of new life and we lift Natasha and Enrico before You. Thank You for the safe development of this baby so far. We ask for continued protection in every step of this pregnancy — for healthy development, peace of mind, strength for Natasha’s body, and wisdom for every medical decision. Provide excellent care and compassionate professionals. Amen.

    Lord, we pray for emotional and spiritual wholeness. Guard the couple from anxiety and fear. Let Your peace, which surpasses understanding, guard their hearts and minds (Philippians 4:6–7). Surround them with trusted friends and mature believers who will pray, counsel and protect them.

    We also pray for salvation: draw Natasha and Enrico closer to You. If there are needs of the heart, meet them with Your love and conviction. Let this season be one in which faith grows, repentance blooms where needed, and the couple embraces the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We pray that the child will be raised in the fear and knowledge of the Lord, and that the family will steward this life for Your glory. Amen.

    “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

    In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
