Heavenly Father,

We bow our heads before You with heavy hearts, grieving the loss of life, shaken by the weight of war, and longing for Your mercy. We come seeking You in a time that feels uncertain and painful, especially as we mourn the lives of the six U.S. service members who have been killed since the war began. We lift them up to You, Lord, knowing that nothing is hidden from Your gaze and that every soul is precious in Your sight.

Lord, we pray for the families and loved ones of those brave service members who laid down their lives. Comfort them in their grief. Surround them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Hold them close in moments when words fail and tears flow freely. Let them feel Your presence and Your compassion with every breath they take.

We also lift up all service members who are serving in harm’s way. Protect their bodies, shield their minds, and guard their spirits. Give them courage when fear arises, strength when they are weary, and hope when despair tries to take hold. Comfort them with the knowledge that they are not alone.

Father, we pray for all civilians whose lives have been disrupted by this conflict — those who have lost homes, livelihoods, loved ones, and peace of mind. Bless the children who have seen things no child should see. Bring healing to the wounded, both seen and unseen. Give comfort to those whose homes have been shattered and whose futures now feel uncertain.

Lord Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace. We ask that You would breathe peace into every conflict zone and restless heart. Soften hardened hearts. Turn leaders toward compassion, justice, and the pursuit of peace rather than further violence. Inspire negotiations that lead to de-escalation, reconciliation, and restoration.

Where there is anger, Father, plant Your love. Where there is bitterness, plant Your forgiveness. Where there is fear, plant Your hope. Restore what has been broken. Heal those who are wounded. Comfort those who are grieving. And mend the torn fabric of communities torn apart by war.

We pray for first responders, aid workers, volunteers, and doctors who walk into danger to bring help. Give them wisdom, strength, and protection as they minister to the needs of others. Be a refuge for the displaced and overwhelmed.

God of all comfort, we ask for peace that truly lasts — not just a pause between conflicts, but a deep and enduring peace rooted in justice, mercy, and goodwill. Let Your peace reign, Lord, over nations and hearts alike.

We pray all this in Your Holy Name. Amen.

Why We Pray

The world is witnessing intense conflict that has directly affected U.S. service members, allies, and countless civilians. Six American service members have been killed since the beginning of this war, leaving grieving families and communities behind. Yet beyond statistics are real lives, real families, and real heartbreak. This prayer request seeks to honor those lives, support those who are suffering, and plead for God’s intervention.

Share this prayer on Epifia to lift all those involved in this conflict soldiers, families, civilians, and leaders asking God to bring lasting peace and restoration to broken places and weary hearts.
