Why We Must Pray

In times of health crises, it's a natural response for Christians to turn to prayer, seeking comfort, healing, and wisdom. The Bible encourages us to pray for one another, to bear each other's burdens, and to trust in God's sovereignty and love (Galatians 6:2, Romans 8:28). Simone Biles' situation reminds us of the importance of prayer in the face of uncertainty and fear.

Prayer Points

• For Simone Biles' complete recovery and continued health.
• For her family and loved ones, that they may find strength and peace during this challenging time.
• For the medical team caring for her, that they may have wisdom and skill in their treatment.

Scripture Reflection

The Bible says, "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord." (James 5:14). This verse reminds us of the power of prayer in times of illness and the importance of seeking spiritual support alongside medical care.

Another comforting passage is Psalms 107:20, which says, "He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." This reminds us of God's power to heal and His desire to see us whole and healthy.
