Pastor Benjamin Egbaji, a Nigerian cleric and entrepreneur from Cross River State, has been detained in the Republic of Benin since May 2023 under disturbing and unjust conditions. We are compelled to intercede—praying for his health, legal protection, emotional strength, and saving faith in Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:1–4

Background & Ministry

  • Clerical calling: Founder of Église De Miracle Et Action Du Saint Esprit, serving communities in Benin Republic for decades with no prior criminal record. Prov 21:3
  • Entrepreneurial work: Also active in real estate and commerce within Benin, contributing to community growth before his arrest.

Latest Developments & Why Prayer is Needed

  • Over 2 years detained without fair trial: Arrested in May 2023, he remains incarcerated in chains—even during hospitalization—and denied due process.
  • Health in rapid decline: Reports show dangerously high blood pressure and oxygen deprivation to parts of his brain. There’s urgent need for medical evacuation and treatment.
  • Calls for justice intensified: The Nigerian government, civil society, and church leaders are advocating for his fair treatment and medical care. Protests and diplomatic efforts continue.

In the midst of injustice, let’s bring him before the Lord—praying for protection, clarity, and divine intervention. Psalms 34:18 Isaiah 1:17

Reasons to Intercede

  1. Protection & Justice: Pray that God would open doors for a fair trial and humane treatment. Isaiah 56:1
  2. Health & Restoration: Ask the Lord to supernaturally restore his physical health and grant access to medical care. Jeremiah 17:14
  3. Strength & Hope: Pray for spiritual, emotional, and mental resilience amid long suffering. Philippians 4:13
  4. Diplomatic breakthrough: Pray government officials will act with wisdom, compassion, and urgency. Proverbs 21:1
  5. Salvation: Above all, pray that Pastor Egbaji would meet Jesus personally—repent, believe, and walk in new life. Romans 10:9–13

Heavenly Father, we bring Pastor Benjamin Egbaji before You in the name of Jesus. You see his suffering, his chains, his pain, and the injustice he faces. We cry out for his release, for fair justice, and for urgent medical attention to restore his body.

Lord, be his strength and shield. Comfort him in his loneliness, give him hope when despair comes, and remind him that You are close to the brokenhearted (Psalms 34:18).

We pray for wisdom and compassion to fill the hearts of those who can help—government officials, diplomats, and judges. Let Your justice flow like a river.

Most importantly, Lord Jesus, draw Pastor Egbaji to Yourself. Let him call upon Your name with heartfelt repentance and faith. Save him, write his name in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and bring him into the fullness of Your grace and purpose.

Use his story for Your glory, to shine light in dark places, and to bring hope to many. In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen.
